Bartlett officials are exploring an array of options when it comes to the future of Quail Ridge Golf Course, which closed earlier this month.
After an outcry from concerned citizens this month, Mayor David Parsons met with owner David Wilder on Thursday, Nov. 14, to discuss the future of the 18-hole course. Parsons wanted to find out if Wilder was open to an outside company running it, a public-private partnership, or if he wanted it sold and redeveloped.
“He says he has not entered into any agreement with anyone at this time,” Parsons said. “He wanted to take a little breather and evaluate all of his options. He’s very thankful for all of the citizens here, but it was just time for him to close it.”
Quail Ridge, the city’s only golf course at 4055 Altruria Road, operated under a special permit since opening in 1994.
In recent weeks, Parsons and his team have contacted several communities that have managed golf courses to get insight.
