“This dish is all about our childhood and all about Memphis,” Michael Hudman once wrote about Hog & Hominy’s peanut butter and banana pie recipe.
In the cookbook, “Collards & Carbonara,” which he penned with business partner Andy Ticer, Hudman described the pie as a play on the peanut butter and banana sandwich he calls “the Elvis sammy.”
“It was the only dessert that we were sure we wanted on the menu before we opened the doors of Hog & Hominy. And it is something we will probably always keep on the menu,” he wrote.
