Ramblin’ Joe’s expands to Germantown
The local coffee chain plans to open its sixth location next month.

When it comes to sporting events, food is important. So important that food specials seem to be one way local sporting events are trying to attract more spectators.
The Rawgirls truck is now shuttered and padlocked, and Google shows the business as permanently closed.
It’s been a big week for restaurant and bar reopenings, as three recently celebrated being back and open for business.
Kendra Lawler and her wife, Claudia, and their two teenagers spent the entire first week of July bringing their food truck, The Neon Crave, to as many events as possible.
Bar Limina hosts oyster happy hour every Friday from 4 p.m. until the restaurant sells out.
“This was just this week’s fire, and we’re past it, and now we have to look forward to next week’s fire,” said one restaurant owner.
Also, a cocktail bar prepares to open in the former Longshot space Downtown, and Flip Side Pinball Bar can now serve liquor.
“(Saffron) is big in our culture because they use saffron in everything,” said one of the coffee shop’s owners. “Saffron is calming.”
“Musical theater is my avocation. Dentistry was just my vocation,” said the piano bar and cabaret’s owner.
“To celebrate my most recent turn around the sun, my family and I had what I would call a true family-style dinner.”
Dog & Bone offers a menu of British classics, including fish and chips, bangers and mash, and halloumi fries. But one of their best-kept dishes is hiding in plain sight.
Vanessa Holmes originally launched her food truck because she was tired of food and service falling below her standards.
Sage Memphis — and owner Charles Nwankwo — has been participating in the week for the past five years.
“Bees work for the greater good of the hive ... with communication, teamwork, selflessness, and that’s kind of what we’re wanting to show Memphis,” says Kevin Woods.
The University of Memphis was offering three new value meals at Saturday’s season home opener, and food writer Sophia Surrett was there to check them out.
Wahlburgers Wild never closed, but its parent company, Wahlburgers, reclaimed management of its one-of-a-kind location earlier this year, along with the other dining operations, including the hotel’s breakfast and banquets.
