FedEx Corp. filed a notification with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development detailing the layoffs at its facilities.

Analysts expect the younger Smith will have no difficulty being elected as the 13th member of what has long been a 12-member FedEx board.

The additional flights will begin on March 6, 2026. 

“Memphis International Airport isn’t just the busiest cargo airport in North America; it’s a critical gateway for passengers and businesses,” said Congressman Steve Cohen in a release. “These federal resources strengthen our economy, support jobs, and ensure Memphis remains connected as a vital hub to the rest of the world.”

The change is a result of “unforeseen regulator and economic uncertainties associated with the specialized health manufacturing industry,” according to documents.

The relationship with FedEx continues to be a game-changer for a Memphis sports department looking to keep up in the new revenue-sharing era.

“Richard possesses extensive FedEx experience and will represent the legacy and values of his father and family on the Board of Directors,” said chairman of the board.

The new Ford Universal EV Platform is designed to make the manufacturing process faster. The company said it requires less space and offers better ergonomics to improve safety and reduce physical strain on workers. 

MATA does not have enough money to operate the trolleys even as it works to ready vehicles for a potential return.
