Dain Dainja was “a little banged up” in the first half of the Tigers’ AAC quarterfinal win against Wichita, but he returned for the start of the second half to help Memphis advance to Saturday’s semifinal.

Coach Penny Hardaway told PJ Haggerty, the AAC Player of the Year, that this is when big players have to step up. Haggerty responded by dropping a career-high 42 points against Wichita State in Friday’s AAC Tournament quarterfinal game.
