Extension or not, Santi Aldama and Brandon Clarke both could be crucial for the Grizzlies, especially early this season. 

The much-talked-about Southwest Memphis greywater facility, which could save billions of gallons of freshwater a year, is a few steps closer to reality. 

Now seems like a good time to underscore the importance of basketball for Memphis in the future of any realignment discussions — and to emphasize that the current situation for Tigers basketball is unsustainable.
