After the Tigers had their win sealed at Florida Atlantic, some fans wondered why Memphis scored again. Ryan Silverfield tackles the issue.

The Memphis Tigers are 5-0 and inching closer to being ranked. 

It’s scary for the Memphis Tigers to think about what could be when running backs Greg Desrosiers Jr., who had 204 rushing yards in a win at Florida Atlantic, and Sutton Smith are both healthy.

“The backdrop of Memphis football’s game against Florida Atlantic was never going to compare to last weekend’s against Arkansas. But make no mistake: This game was still a huge test. The Tigers passed with flying colors.”

Florida Atlantic kept the game interesting with a few explosive plays of its own, but Memphis pulled away with a 31-point fourth quarter for a 55-26 victory.

Sutton Smith’s 64-yard touchdown run and Chris Bracy’s forced fumble were two of the key plays Memphis made in the fourth quarter to edge Arkansas. And, Arrington Maiden’s run clinched the win.
