Elvis Week has entered the chat.

Celebrations, memorials and Elvis Presley-themed events began on Saturday, Aug. 8, and will run through Sunday, Aug. 16.

I recently celebrated the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant called Glenn’s Smokehouse in Searcy, Arkansas, where my family lives.

If you ever get a chance to go to Glenn’s, do so. The interior is adorned with tchotchkes, Christmas lights, vintage pieces and tons of musician memorabilia — much of it related to Elvis.
