According to the Collierville Police Department affidavit, released Thursday, a nurse practitioner identified the alleged shooter as Pickens based on his previous appointments at the clinic.

“To see a guy in the peak of his career be taken out like that is so tragic,” said Dr. Dan Fletcher, one of nine orthopedic hand surgeons in the city and a longtime colleague to Dr. Ben Mauck.

The Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen will vote Tuesday, Aug. 22, to decide who will fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term, which runs until the end of 2024.

A 29-year-old has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated assault in relation to Tuesday’s fatal shooting at Campbell Clinic.

The Bartlett Municipal Planning Commission recommended a special use permit for a new Glide Xpress Car Wash at 5905 Stage Road.

“It’s bad. It’s horrific. It’s terrible,” Collierville chief of police said at a press conference after responding to a fatal shooting at Campbell Clinic on Poplar Avenue near Shea Road.

Monday’s event marked the first community meeting about the plan since the city officially kickstarted the process earlier this year.
