Ellen Chamberlain is a global citizen who is happy to call Memphis her forever home. The Michigan native has worked in media for nearly 25 years as a radio broadcaster, journalist and ghostwriter. As The Daily Memphian’s food and restaurant writer, she gives readers inside perspectives of their favorite restaurants and the people behind them, suggestions for the best bites around town and the latest food news from in and around Shelby County.
Fine dining is alive and well in Downtown Memphis, with the Michelin Guide to the American South recommending two South Main restaurants.
One of those was Felicia Suzanne’s, which originally opened more than 20 years ago. In the restaurant’s new South Main Street location, which opened in April, the space feels both old-world and modern. Reclaimed materials blend effortlessly with new, high-end finishes, creating several distinct dining spaces, including tucked-away private rooms.
