Have you ever had your favorite dish at a restaurant taken off the menu?

Hog & Hominy’s Beef & Cheddar Hot Dog was one such dish for both me and my husband.

I can still remember the day that chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman told me I needed to try their new hot dog at Hog & Hominy. This was probably close to 10 years ago, when the pizzeria was in its original building.

“A hot dog?!” I thought to myself. “Why would I order that at Hog & Hominy when there are so many exciting things on the menu?”

But, always taking the chef’s recommendation, I ordered the hot dog. Full disclaimer, I was skeptical.
